Unique Upcoming Holidays To Celebrate

We have all celebrated holidays such as Halloween, Fourth of July, or Thanksgiving, but did you know that there is a holiday every day of the year? Just read on and learn about some of the upcoming and unique holidays that you can celebrate with your friends!
September 19th
The 19th starts the week off with two very fun pirate-themed holidays: National Talk Like a Pirate Day and National Meow Like a Pirate Day. Channel your inner Johnny Depp and talk like a pirate this day. National Talk Like a Pirate Day was created by two friends back in 1995 but has now become a beloved faux holiday. Thanks to comedian Dave Barry, it is now celebrated by many nationwide. Similar to National Talk Like a Pirate Day, National Meow Like a Pirate Day, contrary to what the name suggests, does not actually mean meowing like a cat pirate (however if you do find a way to meow like a cat pirate that’s very impressive). National Meow Like a Pirate Day is dedicated to cat owners dressing their cats up as pirates for this holiday! This holiday also originated in 1995, and it has gained popularity throughout the nation.

September 20th
Up next, we have two very delicious holidays: National Pepperoni Pizza Day and National Queso Day. All pepperoni pizza lovers (like myself) can celebrate this day and go to a local pizzeria to have some pepperoni pizza. Although cheese pizza is voted America’s favorite type of pizza, a third of all American pizza orders include pepperoni. It is unknown who started this holiday, but a third of Americans have pizza every week. If you aren’t crazy about pizza, don’t fret, it is also National Queso Day! For those of you wondering what queso is, it is the Spanish word for cheese, but also the nickname for a popular cheese dip originating from Chihuahua, Mexico. This cheese dip is commonly paired with nachos and is served all over restaurants in the U.S. Stop by any local Mexican restaurant this day and have queso.

September 21st
September 21st is a holiday dedicated to a beloved sort of sport: World Mini Golf Day! Mini golf is a beloved sport around the world, where you focus more on the putting part of golf. Mini golf makes for great socializing and includes fun competition. The activity can even be traced all the way back to the Romans, playing a similar game known as “Paganica”. So grab a couple of friends and go play some mini golf! September 21st is also national Brittany, Hannah, and Kristina Day, so make sure to wish any Brittanys, Hannahs, or Kristinas in your life a happy day.

September 22nd
This year, September 22nd is not only home to the fall equinox, which marks the beginning of fall, but also National Singles Day. National Singles Day is a day dedicated to yourself! During this day you can get to know and work on yourself. It’s also meant for those who are single romantically, which is becoming increasingly common as the number of single people grows exponentially every year.

September 23rd
Finishing off the school week we have Hug a Vegetarian Day and National Dogs in Politics Day. Know any vegetarians? Give them a hug on this day and try to learn more about their lifestyle! Vegetarians are growing in number and cutting greenhouse emissions through their lifestyle. On this day we also honor Presidential Dogs (FDOTUS). This holiday was inspired by Nixon.

Thank you all so much for reading about all these fun and unique holidays, and I hope you enjoy celebrating them!
