Flag Football Season Comes to a Close

Flag football is more than just a new and growing sport for women. It is an opportunity for anyone of any type to extend their athletic abilities while becoming part of an unforgettable bond. The flag football team has only been around at VHHS for two years but the impact it has made on this our class is significant. These last few years, with the freshman at a different campus, it has been harder to connect with the underclassmen. With a sport like flag football, that which includes everyone, it is so much easier to get to know them.

Being on a team is not just being with a group of people who all enjoy the same things. It’s winning together and even more important, losing together. Being on a team pushing each other to be the best self we can be and off the field. This team is a family and nothing could change that. I will never forget these girls and this group will forever hold a special place in my heart, especially these seniors. They have been the biggest role models to me and I don’t know what I would do without them.

On Monday, December 12, the Flag Football team is having their end-of-the-year banquet. This will include all the players, Coaches Debra Broome, Bryan Davis, and Doug Rogers, Our athletic trainer, and many other people who played a significant role this year.
